Drawing inspiration for the show's title from the inveterate traveler and author, Paul Bowles, YHLYLPOTB addresses artists who are using a geographic location as subject or collaborator. The show specifically focuses on work that features the artist's experience, interaction, documentation, and reaction to new environments.

Work in the show ranges from Ellie Ga's cast made aboard a research ship stationed in the Arctic Ocean where she lived and worked for a year and a half, to Fritz Henle's photographs of petroglyphs found in the Caribbean, a place that fascinated him throughout his life, to Corey McCorkle's sculpture, based on a 19th Century drawing of an American traveler touring Japan.

As an extension of the exhibition, there will be a screening at Anthology Film Archives on July 19th from 7:30 - 9:30PM. Artists in the screening include: Ellie Ga, Fritz Henle, Babette Mangolte, Corey McCorkle, Elisa Pone, Agnes Varda, and more.
